Join us as we commemorate the War of 1812 bicentennial and the Battle of Craney Island, a fight for the town of Portsmouth and the Gosport Navy Yard in June 1813. Discover the important role of people of Portsmouth as well as the armed forces in the area and how they prevented British occupation as America fought it’s “second war of independence.” Enjoy living history demonstrations and hands-on activities exploring the conflict in depth. FREE ADMISSION!

It will be a day of grins and good times for all in the family. “Celebrate Kids” is being held at all four Portsmouth Museums, so be sure to stop by to explore the exhibits and participate in the special activities.
