202nd Anniversary of the Battle of Craney Island

Craney Island Victory Celebration

June 21, 2015 10 AM to 4 PM

Help us celebrate the 202nd anniversary victory at the Battle of Craney Island on June 22, 1813. Fort Norfolk will have War of 1812 re-enactors portraying American forces stationed at the fort. Re-enactors will be demonstrating the weapons of the time and explaining the history of the War of 1812. The Norfolk Historic Society will be giving guided tours of the fort.

Basic Information

Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM For Self Guided Tour. The self guided tour is only the outside of the buildings inside the fort. Free parking is available behind the guard house at the Entrance. Must show picture ID to gate guard at entrance building.

Norfolk Historic Society tours starting June 15 till October 1: Sunday Noon - 4:00 PM

Open other Weekends for special events only.

Helpful Information

The buildings inside the fort are only open during special events. Free parking is available behind the guard house at the Entrance. The last stop for the Tide is only three blocks from the fort.
