George Wray letter August 27, 1793.

Port of Hampton, Aug. 27th, 1793.
His Excellency Henry Lee :
Sir:
I am this moment informed by an officer from on board our Revenue Cutter that there has arrived last evening in Hampton Road, his Brittanic Majesty's Ship "Orion," of 74 Guns, Commanded by John Thomas Duckworth. She has brought in the " Sans Culotte," a French privateer, as a prise, of which it becomes my duty to inform you agreeable to instructions given by the Executive of the United States. The Capt. of the Orion is silent as to the Port from whence he has sailed, but expressed that he expected to find Admiral Gardener, with four other line of battle Ships in Hampton roads. The officer from the Cutter also informs that the Orion's boat, with one of her Lieutenants, was immediately dispatched for Norfolk, from which place I expect you will be more fully informed of particulars.
                                                                           I am, Sir, your most
                                                                                       Obed't Humble Serv't,
                                                                                                          GEO. WRAY.
