The Norfolk Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history of Norfolk, Virginia. Chartered in 1682, Norfolk is one of the oldest communities in the United States and one of the country's most important port cities.
The Norfolk Historical Society sponsors a variety of educational and preservation projects. Membership is open to all who are interested in Norfolk's history. They also receive advance notice and free or reduced admission to a variety of events and lectures sponsored by the society.
