J. J. ULRICH RlVARDI TO THE GOVERNOR. June 9th 1794

J. J. U. RlVARDI TO THE GOVERNOR.
June 9th 1794
I was very disagreeably disappointed in not being able to do myself the honor to wait upon you yesterday. The weather was so bad and my breast so very painful that I could not possibly follow my inclinations, and was forced to submit to necessity.
I received your letter, and take this opportunity to assure you again that no pains shall be wanted on my part to answer your expectation and comply with your intentions. We could not collect any hands to day. I am affraid it will likewise be the case to-morrow. We must try and make up that loss of time as soon as the holidays are over. Here I enclose a Plan of Port Nelson, which soon will be followed by that of the distillery, and shortly after by the necessary drawings of Crany Iland & its defences. To-morrow I shall send plans to Philadelphia, as I expect to have them finished to-day.
Be so good as to present Mrs. Rivardi's best respects to Mrs. Lee, and June 9th to express her gratitude for her polite attentions during her stay here.
Excuse this very short letter, and believe me to be,
Very respectfully, yours, &c.
