Commandant John D Sloat Letter 5 June 1850

Commandants Office
Navy Yard Gosport
5 June 1850
Sir,
I enclosed herewith schedule of materials that will probably be required at this yard for objects, for which appropriations have been asked.
The form of advertisement adopted by the Bureau and the clause in the contracts governing the delivery of material worked say such at this yard; no change therefore is suggested except to require contractors to deliver at Fort Norfolk such materials as may be wanted there.

I am Respectfully, Sir
your obedient servant,
John D Sloat
Commandant

Comm Joseph Smith
Chief of the Burrow of Yards & Docks
Washington
