Joseph Smith Letter 3 July 1854
Bureau of Yards & Docks
3d July 1854
Captain,
Your letter of the 30th ulto. stating that the copper required by your letter of the 28th ulto. is wanted for fastenings for the powder racks, is received. Commodore Morris is of opinion that hickory pins are better for fastenings than copper; the loan of copper from increase therefore need not be made for that purpose.
Respectfully,
yr obt svt,
Jos Smith
Capt. Saml. L. Breese
