P. Williams Letter 21 June 1854
Navy Yard, June 21, 1854
Sir,
In the estimate for powder racks, Magazine, Fort Norfolk. I committed an error which I did not detect until yesterday. In the number of copper bolts which I gave the M. Blacksmith I calculated only for a portion of the racks, intending to use that as a multiplier but in making out the estimate I omitted it, hence the amt is entirely too small.
I submit below the amt required in addition to the one already sent, and would respectfully bag leave it to have the mistake corrected.
Very Respectfully,
P. Williams
Calvin Brown Esqr.
Civil Engineer
Additional estimate
For Copper for bolts — $589.44
For Blacksmiths Labor 348.40
