Sir,
I herewith transmit you a succinct and precise statement of how this yard stands financially up to the 30th Ultimo: But of course there are other charges against us which may be in your office. To enable me to understand fully how the accounts are will you please furnish me with a statement of all accounts against this Yard for Improvements &c. &c. which have been incurred at other places & not already rendered to this office, in order that we may properly balance our accounts for the fiscal year ending the 30 June 1857. There will perhaps be some more charges against this Yard growing out of work done & articles furnished from other places. Embodied in invoices which I am now arranging which when complete & added to what I shall obtain from you will enable me then to send you a graphic true statement of our fiscal condition in the 30th Ultimo.
