Sir,
Will you be pleased to inform me what funds are referred to in your letter of the 17th inst; from which the Machines for the Ordinance building are to be paid. You refer to them as “Ordinance” funds and I am unable to decide whether the funds belong to the Bureau of Ordinance or the appropriation for Magazine belonging to your Bureau are intended.
