William N. Jeffers Letter 26 March 1875
March 26, 1875
Commodore T. H. Stevens
Commandant
Sir:
The letter of mr. Asserson of 23rd inst, concerning the floor of the new Magazine at Craney Island, has been received.
Please inform him that the Bureau does not desire to have the flooring tongue and groove, because experience proves that it will not make a good job.
The boards must be closely joined and secret nailed.
Respectfully,
Wm N. Jeffers
Chief of the Bureau
