William N. Jeffers Letter 7 August 1875

Aug 7, 1875

Commodore T. H. Stevens
Commandant

Sir:
In returning the enclosed requisition, No 187, of the Inspector of Ordinance for furniture for the dwelling house at Fort Norfolk, the bureau remarks that there are several articles now there, such as stores, which are evidently too long and cumbersome for the gunners quarters at Craney Island; and it desires that such articles shall be returned at Fort Norfolk and other suitable ones purchased, on these requisitions, for the quarters at Craney Island.

Wm N. Jeffers
Chief of the Bureau
