William N. Jeffers Letter 23 September 1875
Sept. 23, 1875
Commodore T. H. Stevens
Commandant
Sir:
The Bureau has received the letter of Engineer Asserson reporting that Magazine No 2 at Craney Island is now ready for the lightning rods.
Orders have been given to send a workmen with the rods from the Washington N. Y. To put them up.
Regarding the underground connection please direct this to be made with old chain which answers the purpose quite as well as rods.
Respectfully,
Wm N. Jeffers
Chief of the Bureau
